50 Rector Street, known as 50 Rector Park, is one of the projects that helped kick off Downtown Newark’s modern residential revival. Developed by Boraie Development in partnership with NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, the 22-story luxury tower brought 168 market-rate apartments, retail space, rooftop amenities, and riverfront views to the growing Arts District near New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Completed in 2019, the project became Newark’s first newly built market-rate residential high-rise in more than 50 years and helped pave the way for newer developments like One Theater Square and other downtown towers.‍ ‍
