Demolition Begins at 16-38 William Street for two 42-Story Residential Towers in Downtown, Newark

Momentum is building for Nova Towers, a massive two-tower development planned for a large site just off Broad Street, as construction fencing has officially gone up around the property. Designed by INOA Architecture, the $400 million megaproject is set to bring 712 residential units to the area. Before the twin 487-foot high-rises can begin to climb, however, crews must first finish clearing the site.

The development will feature a mix of studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, alongside designated affordable housing units. Both skyscrapers will rise from a shared multi-story podium and will be physically linked by a sky bridge at roughly the halfway mark. Boasting a sleek, modern glass facade, the project's aesthetic mirrors several other high-profile developments currently transforming the Brick City, such as the Halo and Summit Towers.

Residents will have access to an extensive list of luxury amenities, including secure on-site parking, a fitness center, an outdoor resort-style pool, lounges, entertainment venues, and a spa. Commuters will benefit from the property’s close proximity to Newark Penn Station, providing seamless access to Manhattan and the region via NJ Transit, PATH, and Amtrak lines. While site clearing is now underway, an official timeline for the vertical construction portion of the project has not yet been announced.
