Currently under construction, the Lionsgate Newark Studios development is set to become one of the most transformative entertainment projects in Newark’s history. Located in the South Ward near Weequahic Park and Newark Liberty International Airport, the $125 million film and television production complex will feature nearly 300,000 square feet of studio space, multiple soundstages, production offices, support facilities, and parking across a 12-acre site. Developed by Great Point Studios in partnership with Lionsgate and New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the project is expected to create hundreds of jobs and position Newark as a major East Coast hub for film and television production while continuing the city’s rapid economic and cultural growth.
